Well – I am wondering.
How many times have I found myself beautifully lost in a world of beats & tropical rhythms, spending hours and hours in transantlantic airwaves, decoding signals of electro cumbia, dancehall and caribbean vibes, reggeaton, breakbeat and so on… colorful sounds and productions from away, long hours I guess, listening under the most bright exotic Mediterranean sun.
Checking Panama Cardoon on his DJ sets – along with Palov frequently – while they were playing in Athens, was always an experience and a sign to my eyes (and ears) of more to come from the electro/world sounds made in Greece. While devoted and inspired producers, such as Blend Mishkin with his exceptional work make waves everywhere.
And yes – here we are!
SUPERSAN just dropped their debut album Half Man Half Clap.
And it is fresh and inspiring, blooming in all the modern colors of its electro/exotic vibes.
You can call it: the sound of the Mediterranean Tropics, a spectrum of multi-colored rhythms of Caribbean origin, Jamaican taste, hiphop, breakbeat, disco feeling… exploding all in 16 tracks of full power.
So meet the SUPERSAN, the duo of Panama Cardoon (co-founder of Carnibal records, with a long experience as a DJ) and Mister Kentro (DJ, virtuoso accordion player and founder Balkan Riddims).
They teamed with plenty of first class guests and vocalists from around the Globe like super MC Zulu, electro reggae man from Panama, Brazil’s Neguedmundo and DJ Incidental, Lola Porfirio, the Mexican girl Audry Funk, Salvador’s star Soraia Drummond as well as the fantastic BNC The Disco Vampire from the Dominican Republic, P-Gial, the Greek veteran DJ Kuppo among others.
And if all these sound exotic to you, it’ s because it is! And it’s made in Greece.
